Battery Park

25 Feb

On Thursday, it was unseasonably warm for February.  55 degrees to be exact!!!  A little windy, but still pleasant for this time of year.  Therefore I decided to take advantage of this beautiful winter day and take a walk to Battery Park.  It is a nice walk, as it is not very far from where I work up on Broadway in the Financial District.

There are many things to see in Battery Park.  This includes Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tours, the Sphere and Eternal Flame 9/11 Memorial, Hope Garden and the East Coast Memorial, which is commemorates servicemen who died in coastal waters of the western Atlantic Ocean during World War II.

You will also be able to see the construction of the New World Trade Center.

There is also Battery Gardens restaurant, next to the United States Coast Guard Battery Building.  During a nice spring or summer day, the restaurant would be an ideal place to sit back and enjoy the amazing view!
