I finally met a celebrity!!! It actually was not a random sighting and not a major celebrity, except I am more impressed by her than some really famous celebrities. This past weekend, was the New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC. On Sunday, the last day of the show, I decided to venture out and head there. Part of the reason was because Samantha Brown, Travel Channel host, was going to be speaking at 1 p.m.! Her seminar was very interesting and she is hilarious!! She is also very friendly! 
She was a great speaker and spoke about a few of her travel experiences. She mentioned 4 things she always travels with…
1. Earplugs
- Self-explanatory
2. Pinky Balls
- the pink rubber balls sold in toy stores. Great for massages!
3. Peanut Butter
- familiar & comfortable food to Americans, but unheard of in other countries. Great conversation starter or ice breaker.
4. I Love NY T-Shirt
- Uses as gifts. Something people don’t have when traveling, inexpensive and easy to pack.

She also said when you travel, take the time to move away from all the touristy things and just wander. That is when you are able to “learn from their lives.”
I am definitely ready to plan my next trip!!!
